Take particular note of the ports not shown or responding, and test each one in turn with a lead that is known to work, this will only eliminate bad leads, not bad ports.

Get some pen and paper and make a note of how the setup is currently setup so as to avoid confusion when re-connecting the cables.

Excess heat or moisture - check around the area, place a thermometer near the unit and check this against safe operating temps and humidity ratings ( should be on the unit or at least in the handbook).

As with djnick's suggestion, older cables can give problems and if the ports are in an area where they may attract dust, or be poorly groomed ( meaning cables are dangled or twisted and crossed, may also be under excess strain ).
